Clarkston recently partnered with a full-service creative agency to deliver a tailored diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training experience focused on putting authenticity into action, creating a culture of inclusion and psychological safety in today’s DEI workplace climate. The goals of the engagement were to strengthen employees’ personal authenticity and vulnerability at work, equip participants to navigate challenging conversations in the workplace, and encourage employees to challenge organizational norms to create a more inclusive environment.
The client had a strong foundation of creativity and collaboration, and participated in previous DEI trainings, but recognized an opportunity to further embed DEI principles into everyday interactions and leadership practices, especially given the conversations about DEI in the workplace. The client sought a partner who could provide an experience beyond traditional DEI compliance training, focusing instead on skill-building, practical frameworks, and fostering a culture of trust and openness with empathy at the forefront.
Clarkston collaborated closely with the client’s executive leadership team to adapt the Authenticity in Action: Navigating DEI in Today’s Workplace seminar to meet their specific needs. Before the seminar, Clarkston facilitated a pre-brief alignment session to ensure the learning experience reflected the client’s culture and objectives. The seminar participants received pre-work and communications to help set the tone for an engaging and thoughtful session.
Clarkston delivered a 90-minute live seminar that combined storytelling, engaging discussion, and personal skill development to equip employees with practical tools for navigating difficult conversations and embracing authenticity and vulnerability at work. After the seminar, Clarkston hosted a leadership debrief to share insights from participant feedback and recommend strategies for sustaining DEI momentum within the organization.
Through this engagement, the client was able to deepen employees’ sense of authenticity, strengthen skills for engaging across differences, and lay the foundation for advancing inclusion and psychological safety throughout the company’s culture and leadership practices.
