Clarkston partnered with a global water solutions company to assess its product lifecycle management (PLM) operations and build a foundation for enterprise-wide transformation. The engagement centered on defining a future-state vision, developing detailed solution requirements and a curated short-list of solution providers, and preparing a robust change impact and readiness action plan. These strategic efforts empowered leadership to confidently advance the request for proposal (RFP) process, strengthen cross-functional alignment, and reduce risk by accelerating adoption and mitigating common transformation hurdles.
To fulfill this vision, Clarkston led as-is stakeholder discussions and future-state visioning workshops, assessed PLM maturity levels using a proprietary benchmarking framework, and performed a market scan to identify providers that best matched the client’s business and technical needs. Clarkston also delivered process documentation, including future-state SIPOC flows, alongside a comprehensive change impact assessment and a strategic readiness action plan.
By collecting and analyzing operational data across functions, Clarkston uncovered key insights that informed actionable recommendations and shaped the future-state process landscape. The strategic readiness plan, anchored in this analysis, positioned the organization for a seamless transition to a scalable enterprise PLM application. With all foundational components in place—including a clear future-state vision, targeted solution requirements, mapped processes, and a structured readiness framework—the client is now equipped to initiate an RFP and confidently advance toward successful PLM implementation.
