The client faced considerable challenges with its HR Functional Area and legacy Time and Attendance (T&A) systems. With multiple disconnected T&A systems in use that were manual and antiquated, the client’s attendance management and rostering practices were inconsistent and inaccurate. Specific challenges included a lack of real-time access to employee information, inconsistent reporting results, limited flexibility to manage employee work schedules, and an inability to enforce HR policy compliance. Additionally, the manual processes for supervisors to approve employee timecards were time-consuming and yielded general errors and delays.
Having conducted a detailed assessment, the client concluded that the company would realize tangible benefits from deploying the Dimension module of UKG, a leading T&A product in this area. The Dimension tool would replace multiple timekeeping systems and processes and consolidate all time collections into one system to enable consistent processes and strong data analytics capabilities. The solution also introduced automated and data-driven schedules (schedule automation) in compliance with legal and organizational HR policies and employee preferences (satisfaction). For employees, the benefits include automated time and attendance tracking as well as the generation of standard reports.
To assist the deployment of the UKG Dimension module and achieve these benefits, the client engaged Clarkston Consulting to help manage the implementation project as well as the related organizational change management effort to support the transition.
