A leading global pharmaceutical company engaged Clarkston Consulting to develop a strategic framework for its Network Design of the Future, focused on modernizing fragmented regional logistics into an intelligent, patient-centric supply chain capable of supporting advanced therapies, autonomous operations, and global regulatory requirements.
Clarkston conducted structured stakeholder interviews across supply chain and logistics functions to assess the current state and document active initiatives. These insights informed a consolidated project overview that outlined the transformation vision, a phased roadmap, a cross-functional stakeholder model, and the key industry pressures driving change.
Clarkston then completed a cross-industry market scan drawing from pharmaceutical research, case studies, expert thought leadership, and consumer goods benchmarks. Insights were synthesized into a benchmark framework comprising more than 50 capabilities across six domains, including Network Strategy and Design, Planning and Optimization, Execution and Automation, Data and Integration, Compliance and Risk, and Organizational Capabilities, each categorized by maturity level.
As a next step, Clarkston designed and proposed a structured workshop approach to support capability alignment, self-assessment, dependency analysis, and execution sequencing, enabling the client to validate and refine its digital transformation roadmap.
