Marquis Who’s Who Honors Swati Patel for Expertise in Consulting Services
“Patel has carved out a distinguished career in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries over the past 30 years, serving Clarkston Consulting as the managing director since 2013. In her role at Clarkston Consulting, she has been instrumental in guiding companies through optimizing operations and implementing new solutions, as well as leading and managing SAP implementations. Her expertise extends to assisting biotech companies transition from clinical to commercial stages across various business aspects. Patel’s tenure at Clarkston Consulting began as a senior consultant from 2003 to 2005 before advancing to manager, a position she held from 2007 to 2013. Prior to her current role, she was a manager of publishing operations at Penguin Random House from 2005 to 2007. Patel’s journey in the industry started with McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, where she served as a co-op in 1994 and joined full-time as an operations associate in 1995. She then progressed to become a senior planner from 1997 to 2000. Following this period, Patel enhanced her skills as an SAP functional consultant at Arthur Andersen LLP from 2000 to 2003. Her extensive experience has made her an authority in pharmaceuticals and SAP consulting, earning her recognition on the “Master of Service” podcast and features in professional journals. In addition to her professional endeavors, Patel is proud of being a self-made minority woman who has established herself with excellence in a largely white male-dominated corporate environment. She has often been the only minority woman at the decision-making table, representing her company on various forums and managing teams and projects with poise, excellence, and efficiency. Patel’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in business management, with a minor in communications, from Rochester Institute of Technology, which she completed in 1995. This educational background has been pivotal in her career development and success. She attributes much of her achievements to the unwavering support of her parents and her strong faith, which have provided her with the courage to excel without fear. Looking beyond her professional life, Patel is passionate about dancing and used to participate in competitions with her dance group. She relishes exploring new culinary experiences at different restaurants and discovering new places around the globe, enjoys watching movies, exercises regularly, and values spending quality time with her family and friends. As she contemplates the future, Patel envisions retiring from full-time work to focus on giving back to society by potentially becoming a professor and supporting other women in their professional journeys.”
