Clarkston Consulting was named to the Healthiest Employers of the Triangle for the 2021 nomination period. We are honored to be a finalist. Read more about the Healthiest Employers awards program and more about why Clarkston was nominated below.

Clarkston is thrilled to be recognized for a 1st place nomination for the Triangle’s small company category as a 2021 Healthiest Employer of the Triangle. Healthiest Employers said we were nominated because of our “commitment to employee well-being and exceptional health and wellness programming.” We aim to foster an environment that encourages employees to support one another and have a humble, teachable mindset that is always willing to learn from colleagues. Our Senior HR Generalist, Kate Butts, said it best: “We have flourished as a business and as individuals because our culture embraces bringing your authentic self to work. Our success is indicative of our people’s success – both personally and professionally.” Every leader at Clarkston brings their own personal passion and expertise that together enables us to take on the complex challenges facing our clients.

Our consultants are industry leading experts in life sciences, consumer products, and retail. Clarkston is committed to focusing on supporting our stewards’ health, both physical and mental. Throughout the pandemic, we have been focusing heavily on mental health assistance and aiming to provide financial wellness resources. Last year, during the stay at home order, we sent our employees at-home biometric screening kits to track their health status. We were thrilled to see a 40% increase in biometric screenings completed, too. Tom Finegan, CEO and Founder of Clarkston said, “Investing in wellness for our employees is about more than creating an attractive benefits package. The same way they commit to the purpose and vision of our company, we must commit to their wellbeing.”

“Each year, the Healthiest Employers awards program honors the best and brightest in workplace wellness. Over the past year and a half, it has become apparent that when it comes to employees’ overall well-being, employers have an incredible opportunity to offer benefits that fit an employee’s unique needs – regardless of where they are in their health journey. The Healthiest Employers assessment is scored Rubric style on a 1-100 scale. The assessment is made up of six categories with yes/no, multiple choice, and short answer questions, with each question totaling .25-3 points. A Healthiest Employers Index (HEI) is assigned to each applicant to help rank among companies of similar size. The 6 categories evaluated: culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communications and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analytics.”
