Our client, a specification management software company, provides a centralized system for managing packaging specifications, ingredient lists, and sustainability practices. Despite their powerful software, the company faced a challenge when implementing the system for a major global packaging manufacturer, servicing large food service chains. With no dedicated training staff, the software company sought our assistance to create comprehensive training materials for a successful rollout. 

The client had no formal in-house training department, which created a gap in how they could support the rollout of the new system. Given the scale and importance of the implementation, they reached out to Clarkston for help. Our task was to create comprehensive training materials, documentation, and a strategy to ensure that the new software was adopted effectively, across multiple locations and teams. 

We developed a tailored training strategy using a “train-the-trainer” approach, empowering key employees from the specification software company to become trainers for their teams. We created a series of structured training courses, ranging from introductory to advanced modules, covering the software’s core functionalities, including specification management, specification creation, and reporting. These courses were complemented by detailed user guides and documentation, offering step-by-step instructions for various tasks. To support different learning preferences, we also produced concise training videos that demonstrated key features of the software. 

In addition to the materials, we provided insights into training best practices, helping the client develop a clear strategy and execution plan for a global rollout. This included recommendations on scheduling sessions across time zones and ensuring ongoing support. 

The result was a sustainable training solution that enabled the software company’s client to successfully implement the system across their operations. Our collaboration not only ensured smooth adoption but also empowered the client to independently manage future training needs, contributing to a successful business transformation.
