AMS Consultant at Clarkston Technology Solutions: A Q&A with Olivia
Olivia, an experienced AMS consultant, shares helpful advice from her career journey with Clarkston Technology Solutions.
How long have you been with Clarkston?
I will have been with Clarkston for 4 years in June of this year. I joined the CTS office in Roanoke, VA right after graduation in 2018.
What is your role at Clarkston?
Currently I am a CTS Experienced AMS Consultant. I began my career as a Junior Technical Developer and have since served a variety of roles. Some of those include providing LIMS implementation support, Veeva Configuration and Managed Services, and SOP/Training support. I also serve as the Diversity Council Liaison for CTS.
Tell us about a new skill you’ve developed recently.
Upon starting with Clarkston, I completed my Veeva White Belt Certification. I recently got the opportunity to apply that knowledge as the Configuration Lead for a client. This was a great learning experience that allowed me to further develop my configuration and consulting skills. In addition to this, I recently was able to complete my M.S. degree in Information Technology and Systems.
If you had to choose, which of Clarkston’s core values do you feel resonates with you the most?
Two of Clarkston’s core values that resonate with me are most are Flexibility and Adaptability and Teamwork. My experience as a college athlete laid a foundation of resiliency in these characteristics and I personally feel that this, in addition to Clarkston’s leadership, is what has enabled CTS to grow and be successful as it has in just a few years.
How has your work changed post-COVID?
COVID completely changed my perspective on my work. As I am sure most can relate, it forced me to self-reflect and reassess how I complete my work and interact with clients. Prioritizing my mental health played a pivotal role and has positively made a difference on the performance and confidence in my work.
Which internal initiatives, communities, or projects are you involved in at Clarkston?
Within Clarkston I am a member of the Diversity Council and the Veeva Knowledge Sharing Community. I also continue to support the growing culture of CTS and planning events. I truly enjoy connecting with other stewards as we have recently started going back to the office!
What drove you to accept Clarkston’s employment offer?
I accepted Clarkston’s offer because at the time, CTS had been around for just about a year and I found it exciting to contribute to Clarkston’s growth. Although it was a small team, it allowed for more personable relationships while being able to take the time to professionally grow and be a part of something special. Throughout my time at Clarkston, I have been very appreciative of the support I have received both professionally and personally. This is undoubtedly a true testament of their commitment and investment to our stewards.
